Job Description
Position: Chef
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Preparing and assembling ingredients for menu items.
2. Preparing high quality meals and food items according to company recipes.
3. Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
4. Preparing and cooking food
5. Storing excess food at the correct temperature in order to avoid spoilage.
6. Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
7. Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting
staff
8. Ensuring that cooking utensils are clean before each use.
9. Cleaning and sterilizing food preparation areas.
10. Assisting other cooks to ensure that food orders are completed in a timely manner.
11. Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
12. Efficiently resolving problems with customers’ orders.
13. Ensuring that food health and safety regulations are followed.
14. May select and train staff
15. Work collaboratively with kitchen team
16. Communicate effectively with staff and management
17. Perform any other duties as required by the employer
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual, Temp to perm
Pay: $25.00 – $27.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
