Description of the role:
The Chef de Cuisine at Arlo Chicago will oversee the daily operations of our kitchen. They will lead a team of culinary professionals and ensure the highest quality of food production. The Chef de Cuisine will also develop innovative menus and create an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of culinary professionals, including cooks, and dishwashers
Plan and coordinate food production, ensuring quality and consistency
Develop and execute creative menus that showcase local and seasonal ingredients
Train and mentor staff members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
Oversee inventory, ordering, and storage of food products
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Manage kitchen expenses and maintain budgets
Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional dining experiences
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or similar role
Strong leadership abilities and a passion for mentoring
Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
Strong creativity and ability to develop innovative menus
Experience with menu costing and inventory management
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Culinary degree or equivalent experience
Bilingual-English/Spanish
