Cater Plus is a growing leader in the food service industry, operating in over 100 kitchens across New Zealand, and pleased to be the service provider for a 45-bed aged residential care home in Taumarunui.

We are currently seeking an experienced Chef Manager to lead our small kitchen team. Reporting to a Regional Operations Manager, you will be an experienced leader actively involved in the cooking and service of all meals, the day-to-day running of the kitchen including admin, and making our client and their residents' smile! You will bring the best out in your team as you encourage and lead them to get the job done well. To succeed you will need excellent time management and communication skills and pride yourself on producing consistent and delicious meals.

To be successful in this position you will need to be able to:
Order, prepare, cook, and present wholesome, quality food
Adapt menus to cater for varied dietary requirements
Manage food and labour costs in line with budgets
Communicate effectively any operational issues with manager and kitchen staff
Maintain New Zealand Food Control & safety regulations through our food safety program
Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard-free environment.
Complete daily management tasks, including:
Recording relevant meals and uploading this information to our company portal
Handling internal and external emails
Completing monthly health and safety reports
Ordering food in accordance with cycle menus
Understanding and managing daily resident dietary needs
Overall management of rosters and timesheets
Managing interpersonal relationships

The ideal candidate will:
Have excellent culinary and baking skills
Having a clear understanding of profit and loss
Be proficient in Microsoft Word
Be friendly and engaging, with a desire to be a productive and positive member of the team
Be passionate about good food, and great service
Must have good time management skills, excellent communication, and a flexible/can-do, committed attitude
