Position: Chief Compliance Officer (CCO)
Grade: AGM / DGM
About the role:
This is a senior leadership role. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to join our team. The CCO shall be the nodal point of contact between the Bank and the regulators / law enforcing agencies. The CCO will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an effective compliance program that ensures the Bank's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations as per Reserve Bank of India (RBI) circulars.
He/ she should have a well proven strong track record of success in a similar role. Experience of working in a Co-Operative Bank/ Small Finance Bank (SFB) would be an added advantage.
Education, experience and certification requirements:
1. Post Graduate degree in law, finance, or a related field.
2. Professional certification in compliance, risk management, or a related field is preferred.
3. At least 7 years of experience in a compliance or regulatory role, with a strong background in banking regulations and compliance.
4. In-depth knowledge of the banking industry and relevant laws and regulations, including the RBI circulars.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
1. Act as the primary point of contact for all regulatory agencies, including the RBI, in matters related to compliance.
2. Develop, implement, and maintain an effective compliance program that includes policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Ensure compliance of regulatory / supervisory directions given by RBI in both letter and spirit in a time-bound and sustainable manner.
3. Provide guidance to bank staff on compliance-related issues and ensure that the compliance program is integrated into the bank's overall risk management framework.
4. Monitoring changes in laws and regulations that affect the bank and assess the impact of these changes on the bank's compliance program.
5. Conducting sufficient interventions at periodic intervals to identify and evaluate potential compliance risks and reporting results of such compliance testing to the Senior Management. It shall periodically circulate the instances of compliance failures among staff, along with the required preventive instructions. Staff accountability shall be examined for major Compliance failures.
6. Ensuring that the bank's compliance program is regularly reviewed and updated as necessary to maintain its effectiveness.
7. Providing regular reports to senior management and the Board of Directors on the bank's compliance program, including the results of compliance risk assessments and any material compliance issues that have arisen.
8. Collaborating with other departments within the bank, such as Risk Management, Legal, and Audit, to ensure that compliance considerations are integrated into the bank's overall risk management framework.
+. Assisting the Board and the Senior Management in overseeing the implementation of Compliance Policy including policies and procedures, prescriptions in Compliance Manuals, internal codes of conduct etc.
