**Job Overview:**
We are seeking an experienced legal professional to join our team in the Queensland Government. As a Child Protection Lawyer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, independent legal services to departmental staff within the Department.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert, independent legal advice and representation on behalf of CSSCs in emergency applications under the Child Protection Act 1+++.
Prepare high-quality material for court on behalf of departmental staff to support applications for child protection orders.
Liaise and negotiate with CSSCs, regional staff, and the Director of Child Protection Litigation.
Requirements:
Admitted or eligible to gain immediate admission as a Barrister-at-Law or solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
Possess a "C" class driver's licence to undertake travel.
Be on-call to address out-of-hours emergency legal advice and support.
