Child Support Worker
About Us:
Pebble Lane is a nurturing, play-based child care program that values inclusion, compassion, and teamwork. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Inclusive Support Worker to join our 3–5 Program, providing one-on-one and small-group support to two autistic 4-year-old children who are affectionate, bright, and full of personality.
About the Role:
You will work closely with our team of early childhood educators to provide consistent, developmentally appropriate support to the children, helping them thrive socially, emotionally, and cognitively within our inclusive classroom setting. Collaboration, communication, and genuine care are key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual support and encouragement to two autistic children in a group setting
Foster emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction skills
Work closely with the classroom team to integrate strategies and support plans
Maintain open and respectful communication with team members and management
Support transitions, routines, and daily activities in a calm and predictable way
Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all children at all times
Qualifications:
Experience working with children with autism or other developmental needs is required
A background in early childhood education, child and youth care, education assistant training, or a related field is preferred.
Strong understanding of inclusive practices and neurodiversity
Patient, calm, compassionate, and team-oriented
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Current CRC (Criminal Record Check) and First Aid/CPR required (or willing to obtain)
