Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Paediatric Staff Nurse to work within the established Children's Community Nursing Team to support children within the community who receive Total Parental Nutrition as well as working within the general team.

Band 6 nurse to work within the Children's Community Nursing Team.

The post holder will be required to work Monday - Friday to meet the needs of the service ensuring safe, family centered care for all those who are cared for in the specialty.

Main duties of the job

To work within the Childrens community Nursing Team and hold a case load of CYP's with complex medical needs

To ensure the care plan from the nutritional team/ family is up to date and followed for the children that require TPN

To commence and disconnect TPN whilst the child is at school as required

To administer IV replacement fluids as required

To obtain required bloods and organise any IV therapies to ensure the child’s condition is managed correctly.

To work closely and maintain a good working relationship with specialist team at Addenbrookes and the wider multi-disciplinary team

To be an active member of the multidisciplinary team liaising/communicating as necessary and supervising support staff

To maintain Health and Safety of patients and colleagues at all times by complying with all relevant Trust policies.

• RSCN/RN child

Desirable criteria

• Management/ Team leading qualification

Experience And Knowledge

Essential criteria

• Experience of shift coordination in an acute setting within the last 3 years

Desirable criteria

• Paediatric nursing experience in community setting

Skills

Essential criteria

• Ability to work confidently and autonomously
