Training and Development:
New recruits will attend our established Social Work Academy, which includes an extensive induction programme, regular recall days, and training for ASYE social workers. Our Practice Development Managers lead this Academy, ensuring high standards of practice.

Working in the Family Safeguarding Team:
Working as a Children's Social Worker in the Family Safeguarding team at Lancashire County Council is an exceptional opportunity due to the innovative and holistic approach the team employs. The Family Safeguarding model focuses on working collaboratively with families to address the root causes of issues, such as domestic abuse, substance misuse, and mental health challenges. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that families receive comprehensive support tailored to their specific needs, promoting better outcomes for children and their parents.

The role offers extensive professional development opportunities, including training in motivational interviewing and group case supervision, which are integral to the team's strengths-based approach. You'll be part of a dedicated team of professionals, including social workers, domestic abuse practitioners, and recovery workers, all working together to support families in creating safer and more stable environments for their children.
