Job title: Alternative Fund Services-Data Service Architect VP
Short Description
The Alternative Fund Services is a team within the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB)'s Securities Services group which is expanding their services by offering data as service responsible for generating revenue for the firm by building and commercializing best-in-class data solutions for our Alternatives client base for different investment lifecycles. Our mission is to establish top-tier client services and enable our clients to achieve their business goals by extending J.P. Morgan's reputation as market leader in financial products into the data as a service space.
Job Responsibilities:
The candidate will partner with our Prod dev, Tech, Fund Accounting, Portfolio Accounting, Sales, and Clients in delivering the Product. Responsibilities include the following:
Product Development: Developing/improving data models for Private Market data and analytics. There may be some custom deliverables for high-profile and complex clients.
Modelling: Architect data pipelines, design enrichment processes and define canonical data models that enable unification across the data asset universe. Partner with stakeholders to enhance classification standards, conventions and data relationships as new markets, products and data domains emerge.
Prototyping: Develop conceptual data prototypes that exemplify the use of modern technologies to deliver new functional data & analytics capabilities. Collaborate with the core engineering group to industrialize solutions and contribute to the core codebase.
Data Governance: Familiarity with internal and regulatory guidelines on Model governance. Implementation of remediation; reviewing the process of data feeds from multiple upstream systems
Client Adoption/Engagement: Create factsheets with client's datasets through datasets and also support advanced client and product managers for explanation on data and associated analytical results
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Master's or B.Tech/ B.E / MCA degree in a numerate subject from a top academic institution is highly desirable, but not an absolute requirement
12 to 15 years' experience in developing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and other RDBMS objects on SQL server database.
Mastery of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
Highly analytical with strong capability in Mathematics, Statistics.
Highly skilled on performance tuning of the database.
Experience working with data wrangling and visualizations
Preparing BRD and FRD for implementation by Tech team.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Excellent communication skills are required as the candidate will be required to interact extensively with the product management, technology, and control teams
Role requires a detailed understanding of new age Data Service and Financial Modelling
Setting up enterprise level data warehouse including multiple internal and external master data and accounting datasets.
Designing, creating, building, and maintaining data pipelines to collating raw data from various sources and ensuring performance optimization.
Understanding of Private and Public market financial data.
Back office experience in operations, fund accounting, portfolio accounting, fund structures, and financial reporting.
Experience in fund accounting and portfolio accounting vendor systems like Investran / Arcesium / Geneva is good to have.
