• Our business

J.P. Morgan has a unique global franchise in Research and a career within the department is fast-paced, demanding and intellectually stimulating. The main purpose of Equity Research is to provide advice to institutional investors about the stocks they should buy or sell to make profits for their clients and we work closely with colleagues in Equity Sales, Sales-Trading and Trading to deliver the service. Our strong Research franchise with institutional investors, the market insights we develop and the close relationships we establish with the companies we cover are also very valuable to internal clients such as Investment Banking, Derivatives, Credit & Rates and Private Equity.
• Opportunity

An opening has come up for an Analyst to work within the European Equity SMID Strategy research team in India. We are seeking a professional with experience of working in banking or finance - equity market experience (on the buyside or sellside) would be an advantage.
• Key responsibilities
- Assist in preparation of materials for the regular publication of research
- Assist in primary research and analysis of data
- Assist in writing research reports
- Maintain and update datasets for investment analysis
- Assist in responding to internal and external client queries
- Communicate with internal stakeholders as well as Buyside and Industry participants
- Contribute with stock ideas towards the team's model portfolio
• Requirements:
• Essential skills
- Bachelors degree minimum
- Passion for the stock market, for investing, for generating superior returns, and turning them into personal wealth.
- Ambitious, hard-working, reliable, team player with the capacity to show initiative
- Database knowledge would be preferred (but not essential)
- Strong analytical, numerical and quantitative skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Good Excel, Word and PowerPoint knowledge
