DCC provides custody & clearing services to foreign investor clients investing in India. Our clients are based across geographies and cut across business segments. They are leading Asset Managers, Pension Funds, Insurance Companies, Investment Advisors, Trusts, Corporate, Sovereign Bodies, State Agencies and Charitable Institutions etc. J.P. Morgan DCC in India also supports DR issuances as a Domestic Custodian Bank for Overseas Depository Banks.
The India Direct Custody team is responsible for end to end custodian services which range from, account opening, reference data, settlement activities corporate actions FX, reconciliation, client service & fee billing. Extensive collaboration with Product, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, Tax and Customer Service is essential with in-country and regional functional partners to ensure operational capabilities meet high service quality standards.
This position reports to the Head Operations & Client Service - Direct Custody & Clearing (DCC), India and is responsible for leading and managing the Client Onboarding & Registration team. The candidate will be responsible for flawless service delivery, Participating & driving market advocacy, maintaining highest levels of client experience, clean audits and inspections, ensuring business is operating in full compliance with local market standards and the Firm wide requirements. Delivery on cost saves and productivity targets are key components of the goals.
Job responsibilities
In depth understanding of Direct Custody Business and Trade Management is essential along with sound knowledge of India Financial & Securities Market and its operating principals and rules
Entails managing strong working relationship with external partners, including regulators. Participate and manage market advocacy to ensure better client experience, manage risk & bring efficiency.
Evaluate effectiveness of workflows and processes with the aim of improving efficiencies as well as the timeliness and accuracy of the production process.
Comply with audit and compliance regulations and be the focal point for audit and client visits.
Critical in providing input, development and management of projects in the team on system enhancements, end to end process reviews
Ensure operational risks are identified and managed effectively, ensure systems and processes are in place to minimize and monitor and manage all aspects of operating risk and compliance in the custody operations functions
Develop succession planning for team members and build knowledge depth within team through cross training and coaching. Provide development opportunities to achieve career development needs.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Master’s Degree Preferred – MBA, CA or equivalent
5+ years management experience in an Operations role
Strong people management skills and develop/guide staff in a team orientated environment
Strong Risk and Control Awareness: Ability to effectively prioritize workloads and work to critical deadlines
Excellent customer service skills and able to handle difficult situations internally and externally
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Team player with excellent problem solving skills with attention to detail.
Keen learner, enthusiast and ability to motivate others.
Strong analytical skills and logical thinker, Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
Good knowledge in MS Office Suite applications - MS Word, Excel and Power Point
Capable of working under pressure and to cope with changing volumes, whilst maintaining accuracy and quality.
