Role & Responsibilities:
This position is in the Custody Fund Services Middle Office and is responsible for managing Complex custody exceptions, many of which arise from Asset Servicing events. The primary focus of the team is to identify and review abandoned cash and security balances. The team will interact with Operations, Client Facing Middle Office, Client Service, Product, Legal and Compliance in the execution of their responsibilities. The candidate will ideally have experience in supporting Asset Services and combine that experience with analytical thinking and strong communication skills and a broad working knowledge of Global Custody.
Identify and manage abandoned property exceptions, researching each item and proposing solutions for stakeholder review to clear the exceptions from the Custody balance sheet.
Provide instruction management support to clients and operational support teams
Support global middle office client facing teams with inquiry management for Abandoned Property items.
Partner with core Operations, Network Management, Legal, Compliance and global Middle Office teams to address control and service delivery issues
Understanding the control environment and ensuring daily checks are completed
Participate in team huddles
Work with team on departmental project
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with the following characteristics:
Bachelor degree
2+ years of Voluntary Corporate Actions experience & or other Global Custody experience (preferable)
Understanding of Equity and Fixed Income markets
Technical understanding of corporate actions
Logical/problem solving mind set is key for identifying and remediating the risk associated with corporate actions
Ability to be self-motivated and work well under pressure
Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Asset Servicing product & process knowledge (preferable)
Good balance between analytical skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to face off to very demanding stakeholders, managing their expectations
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to develop relationships across the various stakeholders including senior business executives
Motivated and able to deliver with minimal supervision, whilst working effectively in a team
