The Role

A full time, permanent opportunity is available within the Compliance and Environmental Health Department.
City of Whittlesea City Compliance Officers investigate and enforce breaches of both state and local government legislation. These can include: Local Laws, the Environmental Protection Act, the Road Safety Act, the Road Management Act, and the Road Safety Road Rules. They provide consistent, professional information and advice to internal and external stakeholders and ensure an appropriate balance between education and enforcement.
We are looking for dynamic employees who are passionate about continuous improvement and are ready to take on new challenges. This role will have a primary focus on ensuring compliance throughout the municipality with regards to Local Laws and Road Rules.
About you
A successful applicant will:
Have a sound knowledge of the Local Government Act 1+8+/2020, Environmental Protection Act 2017, Road Safety Act 1+86, Road Safety Road Rules 2017 and Infringements Act 2006.
Have prior experience in a Victorian Local Government enforcement role.
Have, or willingness to obtain, a Certificate IV in Government.
Be confident working with new and existing technologies.
Be able to demonstrate experience delivering an exceptional standard of customer service in a high-pressure environment.
Have integrity of the highest standard.
Be enthusiastic about change in the workplace.
Have a current Australian driver’s license.
