Job Description
As a Fleet Mechanic III, you will be responsible for performing complex maintenance and specialized repairs on diverse vehicles and equipment in the City of Tampa's Fleet Maintenance Division. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with vehicles and equipment
Operate and maintain various types of motor vehicles and equipment
Assist in training lower-level mechanics and provide guidance on proper repair techniques
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in automotive repair or related field preferred
Minimum one year experience in performing technical maintenance and major repair work on automotive, construction, and special vehicles and equipment
Certification by National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (NIASE) in four or more areas required
Valid Florida driver's license and commercial driver's license class 'B' required for Truck Line and Heavy Equipment
