About the role

Our established Canberra Civil team is looking for Civil Construction Engineers with knowledge within the Engineering sector to join us on a permanent basis. This role will support the Canberra office by providing appropriate technical solutions to ensure projects are properly managed and deliverables / outputs meet the agreed goals.

You will have the opportunity to undertake and / or supervise all stages of civil projects including contract management (AS2124, GC21 or similar), development engineering, procurement, design and project management.

Day To Day Tasks Would Involve

Undertake contract management duties to support senior contract managers.
Preparation of cost estimates for project design and construction projects including risk assessments to support contingency allowances.
Preparation of project reports, site meeting records, observations and proceedings
Ensure meetings are managed and documented with actions assigned.
Assist with writing requests for physical works tenders and other procurement documents and participating in tender evaluation teams.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships through excellent project performance.
Ensure project delivery on agreed outputs for budget, on time and to quality standards.
Provide support and guidance, where required, on various projects including design.
Undertake technical tender assessments.
Support specific project includes assisting with planning, budgeting, co-ordination and report writing.
Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.

Qualifications

To be successful for this role you'll need:

Minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering with an emphasis in Civil Engineering
A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the engineering, construction or professional services industry preferrable.
Relevant knowledge of Australian standards and legislation
Self-motivated and self-directed
Interest in working on a broad variety of projects
Driven to innovate and challenge design
Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the team, managers and clients.
Committed to self-improvement and continuing professional development.
Drive and passion to solve problems and produce innovative solutions
