About the role
Our South Australian Delivery team is responsible for delivering critical electrical infrastructure projects across the state. As Civil Construction Manager, you’ll lead the planning and delivery of major civil and earthworks scopes across a range of projects including substations, transmission lines and renewable energy developments.
You’ll lead experienced crews and subcontractors to safely deliver complex construction projects - ensuring work is completed on time, on budget and to the highest safety standards.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll play a key part in coordinating site activities, managing project performance and driving strong outcomes for our clients.
Day to day you will:
Lead civil construction teams and subcontractors on major infrastructure projects
Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and cost-effectively
Drive the planning and coordination of construction activities, resources and schedules
Manage budgets, forecasting and commercial performance
Oversee site operations and ensuring quality delivery of civil works
Contribute to project planning, estimating, bidding and program development
This role is based at Direk, with project work across metro Adelaide and regional South Australia.
The most common roster is 10 days on / 4 days off, working 11-hour days, with double-time overtime and travel allowances.
While some projects will be Adelaide-based, others will require working away from home in regional locations. Flexibility to travel and stay away when required is essential.
About you
You’re an experienced civil construction leader who understands the complexities of delivering major earthworks and detailed civil works on infrastructure projects.
You bring strong leadership capability and commercial awareness, with the ability to coordinate teams and subcontractors while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
You will bring:
Extensive experience managing major earthworks and civil construction on electrical infrastructure or similar large-scale projects
Strong experience leading crews and managing subcontractors on construction sites
Demonstrated capability managing project budgets, commercial performance and delivery outcomes
Experience with civil scope development, tendering, estimating & bidding and program planning
A Civil Engineering background or related tertiary qualifications are desirable
