Who are we looking for?

Due to continuing growth in our Engineering Design Organization, we are seeking a Civil Engineer - Conveyance, to be based in any of our GTA offices. This position will be integral in the development and growth of GHD's Civil practice.

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria along with the application of sound professional judgment. The ideal candidate will have a track record of design delivery for, multi-discipline projects specifically, complex civil and facility projects. Work closely with Business Lead and Managers, Project Directors with a focus on civil design for linear infrastructure Coordinate all aspects of the civil design including being responsible for the design Develop or verify the technical scope of a project Complete civil designs following the budget and schedule Participate in design coordination meetings and address critical issues Work closely with the engineering group to facilitate decision-making related to the civil design Ensure the client’s requirements including specifications and standards are integrated into the project Ensure quality control processes are being followed Mentor and develop junior staff Represent GHD at Client meetings when required Self-starter, flexible, team player, willing and able to work on a wide variety of civil design A Professional Engineering (P. Eng) license with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is required. What you will bring to the team: Bachelor’s ( degree in civil engineering from a recognized college or university. Certification with PEO. (Mandatory) Minimum of 5 years of extensive technical design experience (Watermain, sewers and drainage) Experience with road, site servicing and grading design is considered an asset Demonstrable experience in civil design delivery for larger, multi-discipline projects with a focus on linear infrastructure Experience working in a Design-Build environment is considered an asset Detailed understanding of local Agency (or equivalent) Codes and Standards is considered essential Experience working in an integrated 3D environment Team building and mentoring skills We offer a professional working environment and culture and believe that work/life balance is critical to the success and happiness of our people.
