Duties/Responsibilities:
• Develop comprehensive stormwater management plans, including the analysis and design of effective systems such as drainage channels, detention basins, and culverts.
• Utilize hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM) to perform detailed analyses.
• Prepare clear and thorough engineering reports, drawings, and specifications to support project proposals and permitting processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams and engage with external stakeholders including clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors.
• Conduct on-site evaluations and inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulations.
• Assist in preparing project budgets, schedules, and proposals while maintaining project timelines.
• Mentor and provide technical support to junior staff members.
• Identify and develop effective site solutions using a wide range of stormwater products.
• Present tailored project solutions to civil engineering specifiers and consult on design calculations to incorporate into overall plans.
• Respond to inquiries from civil engineers regarding project-specific needs and regulations.
• Establish strong relationships with civil engineering specifiers to facilitate collaboration.
• Support internal team members to achieve collective goals and project successes.
• Deliver project and technical support for submittals, regulatory approvals, and product delivery.
• Maintain accurate documentation of project information.
• And take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil/stormwater engineering.
• Expertise in stormwater design, including knowledge of green infrastructure practices.
• Proficient in CAD software and drafting procedures.
• Solid understanding of civil engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation).
• In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal stormwater management regulations.
• Exceptional communication and project management skills.
• Experience with green infrastructure and low-impact development (LID) design.
• Familiarity with stormwater quality modeling and best management practices (BMPs).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment and adapt to changing project needs.
