Position Summary
We are looking for a talented, dedicated Class 3 Truck Driver for Edmonton location to join our fleet. Transports cargo to and from specified locations on time and according to schedule. Role involves adhering to all traffic and safety regulations, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and ensuring the timely delivery of cargo to its destination. This role will be flat deck work delivering building supplies to contractors on site. Duties include strapping of load and adhering to specific delivery requirements.
Location: Start and finish location is Acheson.
Start time: 6am
Schedule : Mon- Fri
Deliveries with in Edmonton and surrounding areas
What you will do
Safely and efficiently, inspect, operate and maintain company and customer issued equipment in accordance with Transport regulations, TSA, company and customer policies and procedures.
Document and directly report all safety related equipment defects to Canada Cartage and when applicable, to the customer’s dispatch.
Continuously exercise safe-work-practices when engaged in work related activities (e.g. using material handling equipment, when manual handling cargo, and vehicle backing, etc.).
Maintain timely communication with the company dispatch office to report daily activity such as arrival and departure time, delays, unscheduled breaks, workplace injuries, motor vehicle collisions, and cargo, equipment, and property loss/damages.
Accurately complete and submit (at shift or trips end) all documentation required for payroll, customer billing, hours of service, vehicle maintenance, etc.
Continuously comply with current Hours of Service and TDG regulations.
Inspect cargo prior to acceptance and apply appropriate cargo securement as per NSC Standard 10.
Other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
Valid Class 3 License is required.
Clean 5 years Commercial driving abstract (no more than 3 demerits and 3 negative events).
6 months of Flatbed experience is required.
Moffatt Experience is required.
Hand bombing is required.
Open for using Manual pallet Jack, Dolly.
Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
Comfortable with smartphone technology.
Reliable, flexible, punctual and safe driving behaviors.
Comfortable backing in all manner of tight spaces and locations.
Must be bondable and legally able to work in Canada.
