Job Description
The Cloudburst Group is a major subcontractor on the Local Evaluation and Evidence Support (LEES) effort and has designed training to provide technical and advisory services for organizational and evaluation capacity strengthening to local evaluation organizations. Cloudburst is currently seeking a Classroom Facilitator with fluency in French and English and evaluation expertise to support the implementation of the French-speaking LEES classroom for the USAID West Africa Regional Mission. The classroom will include roughly 120 participants from 25 organizations from countries within the USAID/West Africa Regional Mission, such as Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, and Benin. The objectives of the training are to improve local researchers’ capacity to secure direct funding from USAID for the execution, utilization, and dissemination of evaluations.
Type and Period of Performance: Part-time consultancy, May-September 2026, 23 weeks, approximately 1-4 hours a week
Responsibilities
• Participate in virtual training and bi-weekly coordination calls with the Cloudburst team.
• In consultation with the Cloudburst team, coordinate and lead virtual learning events.
• Assist with responding to discussion threads and questions received on the Google Classroom.
• Host virtual office hours every month.
• Develop and maintain relationships with the selected cohort of local organizations, including bi-weekly check-in phone calls.
• Develop a WhatsApp group for the LEES trainee cohort and post regular reminders of new content.
Qualifications
• A graduate degree in economics or a related field.
• At least 7 years of analytical experience in economic growth with Africa or West-Africa-specific experience.
• Experience with adult education and/or leading training, ideally for international donors.
• Experience with mixed methods evaluations.
• Familiarity with USAID’s objectives, approaches, and operations and background in USAID’s cross-cutting programs.
• Prior experience leading evaluations and assessments for USAID or other international donors is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of evaluation and assessment methodology, including desk review, qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Strong management and leadership skills.
• French and English fluency are required.
