Role Description/Criteria
An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic fixed term classroom teacher to join the learning community of St Leonard’s Primary School, Glen Waverley, starting in Term 3, 2026.
We are seeking a highly motivated, passionate, and innovative teacher to join our learning community as a classroom teacher. The successful applicant must demonstrate a passion for learning and teaching and a commitment to delivering a differentiated curriculum.
The successful applicant will have:
a strong commitment to Catholic Education and Catholic Identity
a willingness to be involved in the school and Parish Community
accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School or a willingness to seek accreditation
exemplary learning and teaching skills with the capacity and desire to share this knowledge in a professional, collaborative and collegial way
strong interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to continue to build strong relationships with students, staff, parents and our Parish community
exemplary classroom management and teaching skills
a commitment to working collaboratively as part of a team
a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
a strong understanding of contemporary learning and the Victorian Curriculum
relevant qualifications and abilities to teach at all levels
Commitment to Child Safety:
St Leonard’s has a zero tolerance for child abuse and all adults in our school have a responsibility to care for children and young people, to positively promote their wellbeing and to protect them from any kind of harm or abuse.
Special Requirements:
Graduate teachers are encouraged to apply.
All applicants must:
have and maintain ongoing registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
be accredited to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school or be willing to seek accreditation
provide the contact details of three referees including the last Principal worked with
