How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:
The Clerk, Accounting Services provides support to the finance business unit by posting and processing financial transactions while ensuring accurate coding and data entry. This role main responsibility is the day-to-day accounts payable and assists with accounting related transactions.

Major Responsibilities:
Maintains accurate data entry, filing and recording of information, ensures records in accounting software are up to date, accurate and quality checked
Assist in weekly cheque and EFT payment process
Responds to general inquires related to payables and/or accounting
Balances accounts, tracing and resolving any discrepancies
Prepares basic accounting related reports as required
Processes petty cash claims for all business units
Matches vendor payment vouchers with electronic source documents
Ensures vendor validity and HST registration number
Processes invoices, routes invoices for coding and approval and creates payment requisitions for invoices from purchase orders
Reconciles deposit information for ecommerce, invoices, cash receipts
Maintains control over outstanding invoices including following up on overdue accounts
Incumbent may also be assigned other duties
What will you need to succeed:
Education (degree/diploma/certifications/licenses)
Completion of college diploma in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting or related field
Experience
1+ years of experience in a finance or accounting environment
Knowledge/Skill/Ability - Competencies
Understanding of accounting software for the purposes of financial record keeping and data accuracy.
Understanding and application of basic mathematical functions (e.g., adding, subtracting, measuring, money computation)
Able to comprehend written documentation and procedural guidelines; skilled in writing clear correspondence (concise, logical, grammatically correct)
Demonstrates responsiveness to internal and external customer requests and needs
Ability to communicate effectively with tact and courtesy
Proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams, WebEx, and SharePoint; advanced MS Excel capabilities for analysis, data visualization
