Clerk Typist 2 – Receptionist
(Full Time) RCMP Detachment

The District of Kent, located in the picturesque Eastern Fraser Valley, is offering an exciting opportunity for a Clerk Typist 2 at the Agassiz RCMP Detachment.
This key role assists management to achieve the efficient operation of the RCMP Detachment by providing reliable performance in customer service, telephone reception-switchboard operation, keyboarding, and audio statement transcriptions. The transcription of witness/accused audio statements is a primary area of responsibility in this job role. These duties are completed while complying with the sensitivity of police matters, safety, and security of material pertaining to the department’s operation and policies of the RCMP / District of Kent.
The ideal candidate will possess:
A minimum of Grade 12 education supplemented by commercial training in bookkeeping, computers, or a combination of experience and training.
Secretarial experience preferably in a Municipal, RCMP, or Provincial setting.
The ability to operate audio equipment and transcribe information accurately and in a timely manner.
The ability to use computer software applications specific to the work environment, and keyboard accurately with an average speed of 50 words per minute.
In addition, the incumbent must be able to acquire and maintain the required RCMP security clearance for the position.
Pay and benefits for this bargaining unit position are in accordance with the Collective Agreement, CUPE Local 458. The 2025 post-probationary wage rate for this position is $35.53 per hour plus a comprehensive benefit package and participation in the Municipal Pension Plan (MPP).
