Job Description
The clinic scheduler is responsible for assisting the provider with the maintenance and scheduling of patient testing and procedures, as well as, providing referrals to specialists. They will use the EMR program to document, will reschedule as needed, and will provide clerical assistance as needed to provider.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Physician office experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of PC applications, Word, Excel, etc.
• This position requires knowledge of hospital and department policies and procedures.
• Must be able to maintain positive public relations image in all medical staff and interdepartmental communications.
• Must relate to physicians, coworkers and patients in a courteous, helpful and respectful manner. Is expected to participate in a team effort to accomplish department goals, must be willing to rearrange schedules according to department needs.
• Must be able to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
• Organization and time management skills.
• Ability to follow directions and establish priorities effectively.
• Self directed and capable of working without direct supervision.
• Dependable in both production and attendance.
