Job Summary

The Clinical Case Planner’s responsibilities consist of supporting customer surgeons in the pre-operative surgical planning process, which utilizes our TPLAN 3D planning workstation and software. Patient CT scans are utilized for 3D bone model generation, pre-operative implant planning, implant sizing and positioning. The Planning team produces high volume of quality case templates, customized to each implant and surgeon assigned, and participates in the collaborative review of each case. The Case Planning team adheres to quality standards and provides documentation and record keeping for all cases planned and transferred to the online portal. This position is remotely based in the Central or Eastern time zone.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Use TPLAN Workstation and proprietary planning software to process pre-operative CT scans for multiple case plan output daily.
• Support THINK Surgical’s Clinical Support team on all aspects of the TPLAN Workstation and upload portal(s).
• Adapt to ongoing changes to the software and implant modules. Work closely with the development team by providing customer and user feedback, bug reporting, etc.
• Assist the field sales team in demonstrating the product internally, to surgeons, other customer prospects, headquarter visitors and trade shows. This may include Cadaveric and/or live tissue demonstrations.
• Communicate effectively with the Case Planning and surgical teams, contributing to discussions and providing assistance with the surgical plan, implant selection, and any potential challenges or modifications.
• Conduct quality checks of the surgical plans under the guidance of senior case planners, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established guidelines.
• Represent the company with the highest levels of professionalism to maintain our market brand/image as a world leader in medical robotics.
• Moderate record keeping and data entry, weekly/monthly reporting of case metrics.
• Attending departmental meetings, knowledge transfer sessions, cadaveric and/or specimen labs, and participating in live orthopedic surgical procedure observation as needed.

Qualifications

Required:
• Associate degree or 1+ years on the job experience in medical/surgical field or medical device industry.
• Excellent verbal and written, interpersonal and presentation communication skills.
• Must be capable of making appropriate sound decisions quickly in a high pressure setting.
• Must demonstrate confidence, trust, and a high level of maturity.
• Fine motor skills and mouse dexterity.
• Strong analytical skills, initiative, sound judgment and problem solving ability.
• Excellent computer and software skills, including Microsoft suite.
• High level of integrity and work ethics.
• Attendance, punctuality, and responsiveness are essential functions of the position.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and applicable Quality System Standards.

Preferred
• Experience with orthopedics, specifically Total Knee Arthroplasty, Surgical Robotics, and navigation systems.
• Experience with Atlassian products and JIRA.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position and operate office equipment for a prolonged period of time.
• Physical activities include, but not limited to constant manual dexterity, moving about the work site, and/or handling objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
• Other infrequent physical activities include, but not limited to, positioning self to complete assigned tasks, and ascending/descending floors and/or ladders.
• Occasionally work around moving mechanical parts.
• Must be able to work in a schedule that commensurate with business operation, including work during weekends, holidays and/or times outside of normal business hours.
• Must be able to travel as business necessitates (up to 10%).
