What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
• Collaborate with and be supervised by the Appeals and Grievances Medical Director to review and adjudicate cases
• Perform individual case reviews for appeals and grievances across various health plans and insurance products
• Communicate appeals decision rationales and benefit interpretations to medical directors
• Actively participate in team meetings focused on process improvement, training, and feedback
• Provide clinical and strategic input to organizational committees and projects
What Is Required (Qualifications)
• Current Physician Assistant/Associate license in the state of residence
• Current Board Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• 5+ years of clinical Physician Assistant practice experience
• Intermediate computer skills: MS Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Ability to work normal business hours from Monday to Friday
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
• 1+ years of experience in Utilization Management and Utilization Review processes
• Familiarity with Appeals & Grievances processes
• Experience in claims coding and review
• Experience with project management and facilitating hospital admissions
• Inpatient Physician Assistant experience
