About the Role

As a Clinical Integrator, you will play a key leadership role in shaping and implementing service improvement and development across the district health system. Working in partnership with the Planning, Funding and Outcomes (PFO) Sub-regional/District Group Manager, you will support the development of service redesign initiatives and lead the local implementation of these improvements.

In this role, you will bring together clinicians and system leaders across primary care, community services, public health, and hospital services to strengthen clinical pathways and address interface issues that impact patient care. This is a unique opportunity to influence system-wide change, improve health equity, and support better outcomes for patients and whānau while maintaining your clinical practice as a GP or Nurse Practitioner.

About the Team

The Clinical Integrator works closely with a broad network of clinical and system leaders including Clinical Advisors, PFO Clinical Directors, Regional Chief Clinical leaders (Medical, Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health), and district Planning, Funding and Outcomes teams. The role also partners with colleagues across Hospital and Specialist Services (HSS), National Public Health Services (NPHS), and primary and community care to design and implement improvements that strengthen the health system and improve outcomes across the district.

About you

You are a respected clinician with strong system thinking and a passion for improving healthcare delivery. You bring credibility, influence, and the ability to bring people together to drive change.

Relevant tertiary medical qualification with current Vocational Registration in New Zealand.
Minimum 5 years' clinical practice within the NZ public health system, with at least 2 years in a clinical system leadership role.
Proven experience as a change leader, with the ability to respectfully challenge the status quo and improve systems and outcomes.
Demonstrated experience in system and service design.
Strong experience building and influencing relationships and partnerships across sectors, including clinicians and Māori and Pacific communities.
Ability to think strategically and conceptually, anticipating long-term clinical and financial impacts of decisions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information to senior leaders, boards, and Ministers.
