You will join a supportive multidisciplinary diabetes team across Blacktown Hospital and Mount Druitt Hospital within Western Sydney Local Health District, known for innovation, collaboration and patient centred care.

What you'll be doing
As a senior diabetes educator, you will deliver expert clinical consultancy and lead evidence based diabetes management across outpatient and inpatient settings.
Manage complex diabetes including insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring
Provide advanced education to patients, families and health professionals
Support glycaemic stabilisation including pregnancy related diabetes care
Lead quality improvement and develop clinical practice procedures
Mentor nurses and promote credentialing and ongoing professional growth

Essential Criteria
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, AHPRA, as a Registered Nurse Division 1.
Selection Criteria
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a registered nurse/midwife.
2Appropriate qualifications in diabetes management from Post Graduate to tertiary (Masters level) and current credentialing with Australian Diabetes Educators’ Association (ADEA).
Three years full time equivalent post qualification experience in diabetes management.
Excellent theoretical and clinical knowledge of all aspects of diabetes and its management, and extensive experience with T1DM, including initiation of subcutaneous insulin infusion pumps and continuous glucose monitoring.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively, independently and within a collaborative team environment, whilst prioritising and managing own workload.
Demonstrated effective communication with patients, nursing, medical and allied health clinicians
Demonstrated ability to ensure patients, carers and families are well informed, engaged and confident about their care and treatment, within the scope of a registered nurse/midwife
Demonstrated critical thinking ability, prioritisation and communication skills while effectively following directions
