Permanent 80 hour’s per fortnight (1 FTE)

About the Role

As the Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will provide clinical and operational leadership to nursing and support staff across pre and postoperative areas. You will ensure high standards of care are consistently delivered, and actively contribute to service planning, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical staff development.

Our team within DOSAHB is a multidisciplinary, high-performing group committed to safe and compassionate care for patients throughout their surgical journey. With a focus on collaboration, respect, and innovation, we work closely to ensure seamless transitions for patients from pre-admission to post-operative recovery. You’ll be joining a supportive leadership team and a culture that fosters professional development and clinical excellence.


You are a dynamic and clinically skilled nurse leader who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. You bring a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and a passion for delivering high-quality surgical care.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse and a valid Annual Practising Certificate.
Extensive clinical experience in surgical, perioperative, or acute care nursing.
Proven leadership and coordination skills, ideally in a charge nurse or senior nursing role, with the ability to mentor, guide, and support a diverse nursing team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary teamwork.
Excellent organisational and critical thinking abilities, particularly in managing patient flow and responding to changing clinical demands.
A commitment to equity, cultural safety, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles in your practice.
Confidence in quality improvement initiatives, service development, and supporting clinical education.
A positive, professional attitude and the ability to remain calm and focused in a high-demand environment.
You are passionate about leading by example and fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement in patient care.
