This is a recruitment pool for Fixed Term - Full Time, and Fixed - Term Part Time positions with possibility of extension and permanency.

About the Role
Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse – Infection Prevention and Control to join our specialist team and provide advanced clinical expertise in infection prevention and control to patients, families and staff.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary service, you will provide expert clinical and professional nursing leadership to support best practice infection prevention and control across the hospital. Your work will play a vital role in protecting patients, families and staff, promoting patient safety, and ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care in a complex paediatric healthcare environment.
This role offers a diverse scope of practice, including surveillance, auditing, education, policy development and quality improvement activities across surgical, medical, acute and mental health services. You will work closely with clinical teams across the hospital to identify and manage healthcare-associated infections and support the implementation of transmission-minimising strategies.
Key responsibilities include
Coordinating daily Infection Prevention and Control service activities, including auditing and targeted surveillance of healthcare-associated infections.
Utilising electronic surveillance systems (including ICNet, webPAS and ICM) to monitor and analyse infection risks.
Liaising with multidisciplinary teams to resolve complex clinical issues and evaluate care.
Supervising, coaching and supporting staff in infection prevention and control practices, including assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation.
Leading and contributing to education and training programs to promote best practice across the organisation.
Participating in clinical governance, policy development, quality improvement and research initiatives aligned with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) is required for this role.

Our dedicated Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) specialist nurses play a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment within our hospital and community sites.
We support multidisciplinary teams and contribute clinical and professional expertise in the delivery of comprehensive, evidence-based and patient-centred care to our young patients and their families. Our primary objective is to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and minimise the risk of infections among patients, healthcare workers, and visitors.
In addition to developing improvement projects, ensuring effective cleaning, monitoring pathogen resistance, analysing infection data, defining protocols such as hygiene practice, and providing comprehensive education and training to healthcare staff within the hospital, we also provide best practice guidance to our patients for use at home and after discharge to encourage prevention and minimise the risks of infection.
