Permanent role
Full-time Position (80 hours per fortnight)
Based in Takapuna North Shore

Community ******* and Drug Services (CADS) Auckland are looking for a full time Clinical Team Leader to manage our CADS North service based in Takapuna

About us

CADS are the largest ******* and other Drugs (AOD) service in New Zealand and provide free community and inpatient treatment from a number of locations across Tamaki Makaurau. CADS are committed to empowering the community to reduce the harm associated with substance use and to promote recovery and wellbeing.

About the team

Our counselling service team is available throughout Auckland. We provide a range of groups as well as individual counselling. Our groups are available throughout the day and after hours.

About you

This is an opportunity to lead a team committed to making a positive difference in the lives of people accessing our services while also taking a role in service development, safety planning and quality improvement activities, and liaison with primary and tertiary health and social services in Waitakere.

You will monitor and manage clinical service delivery and staff performance so need excellent team building, interpersonal and communication skills, and the drive and motivation to support and enrich clinical practice.

You will have a strong sense of social justice, a non-judgmental attitude, and enjoy working with challenging and complex situations. You will take pride in providing a high standard of care and enjoy the challenges of providing services to a diverse community. You will be committed to reducing inequities and the harms associated with ******* and other drug use.

You will work in close partnership with consumers via the consumer advisory team at CADS and with primary care, mental health, NGOs, hospitals and AOD providers for Maori and Pacific peoples.

Your goal will be to provide a high quality service based on recovery-oriented systems of care and the principles and practices of harm reduction.

Essential

A sense of social justice and enjoying working with people in all their complexity is required. You will have a non-judgemental attitude, excellent engagement and communication skills, and an ability to work autonomously within a team. You will also have:

Full registration with professional body (dapaanz , nursing, social work, counselling, psychology, occupational therapy or related fields)
Full, clean drivers licence
Legal right to work in NZ
Ability to implement Te Tiriti O Waitangi in your daily work
At least 5 years Clinical experience in addictions or mental health or similar
Preferred

Clinical lead experience in addictions or mental health or similar
Comfortable working in a range of settings including probation, prisons, or NGO's
Comfortable working with other health and social service providers
Lived experience as a consumer or whanau member
Experience in group facilitation
