Job Summary
The Team
At the Port Hardy Crown Counsel Office, you’ll join a team of professionals, including Legal Clerks, Legal Assistants, Senior Legal Analysts, and Paralegals throughout Region 1. This close-knit group promotes public safety, justice, and respect for the rule of law through fair and effective prosecutions and appeals. The team’s strong communication and collaboration create a supportive environment where everyone works together to uphold these important values.

The Role
As a Legal Clerk, you will support Crown Counsel in preparing prosecution case files for court proceedings. Working under the supervision of Crown Counsel and the Office Manager, you will perform a variety of legal services in a high-profile and fast-paced office. Your role requires flexibility, teamwork, tact, diplomacy, communication, and strong organizational skills to ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely completion of responsibilities.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

Grade 12 graduation or equivalent, AND.
A combination of administrative support/clerical experience, education and/or training.
Preferences may be given to applicants with:

Legal office experience.
Justice sector experience.
Experience using the JUSTIN database system.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This is for one (1) permanent opportunity located in Port Hardy
An eligibility list may be established for future temporary and/or permanent opportunities.
