The Deployment Monitoring team builds solutions that help our customers identify, prevent, and resolve deployment health issues on Elastic Cloud. We achieve this by providing customers and platform operators with visibility into deployment health, building self-service tools and diagnostics, and by reducing the impact of issues through proactive monitoring and remediation.
You are a thoughtful, fast-learning Scala or Java backend engineer who seeks a deep understanding of the code and tools they work with. You support your teammates with insightful code reviews and constructive feedback, and you enjoy learning from and collaborating with their peers. As a core member of this team, you’ll work closely with engineers, designers, and product managers to define back-end requirements and build features for administering Cloud deployments. You’ll build APIs and services that enable sophisticated front-end user experiences and help the team maintain a healthy, high-quality codebase.
What you will be doing:
• You’ll build and maintain back-end APIs that will enable sophisticated front-end user experiences. Cloud deployment administrators will use your features to rapidly diagnose and address health issues, which is critical to success in their role.
• Help to deliver the roadmap of the team while suggesting and implementing projects that mitigate technical debt.
• Write comprehensive tests that provide confidence in the stability and function of our APIs and services.
• Collaborate with other experienced engineers, designers, and other stakeholders as we build features together that meaningfully move the needle for our users and our business.

• Strong back-end experience in a JVM-based language (Java, Scala).

• Knowledge of or experience with Elastic products is a plus.
