Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
Support key production systems and services running in AWS cloud.
Troubleshoot critical problems through applications, systems, clouds, and networks
Operate across organizational boundaries to protect our customers, their data, and the availability of all services
Build tools and processes to improve manageability, observability, resiliency and time to restore service for critical incidents
Provide subject matter expertise for AWS solutions and migration technology
Keep current with trends and technological innovations in the cloud services industry and make appropriate development recommendations
Formulate criteria and execute proof-of-concept projects for new approaches and platforms
Preferred Skillsets: Project Management Experience
Ability to translate business needs into technical implementation requirements.
Experience working in an agile project methodology.
Effective interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
Leading projects using agile methodologies and tools
Effective decision making and excellent written and verbal communication.
Preferred Skillsets: Technical Experience
Hands-on experience building prior cloud solutions (IaaS and PaaS).
Expert level knowledge in core infrastructure design and implementations (networking, directory services, DNS, virtualization technologies).
Experience with automation tools to streamline and standardize our cloud deployments like AWS Cloud formation/CDK, Helm Charts, Tekton, Terraform or Ansible.
Strong conceptual knowledge implementing DevOps strategies on cloud with AWS EKS.
Experience in setting up landing zones and/or Control Tower on AWS cloud.
Experience in pod autoscaling designs/strategies, CI-CD pipelines for building enterprise grade application build and deployment automation.
Experience in efficiently managing image streams and build artifacts.
Database administration and tuning including PostgreSQL and SQL Server
Experience with log consolidation, reporting, and alerting frameworks such as ELK
Experience with queueing and streaming platforms, such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ
Proficient in Python, Bash and AWS SDKs.
Work Experience:
7+ years of experience implementing enterprise network solutions, and troubleshooting issues
5+ years of experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting solutions using the AWS Cloud.
3+ years of experience with Containers and Kubernetes
2+ years of experience in network and/or application security (nice to have)
Equivalent Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in information technology or equivalent
AWS Certified Solutions Architect
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
