Introduction:
Cloud Engineer will be responsible in managing technological infrastructure of Barclays Cloud Datalake and will design and deliver scalable utilities to transfer specific functions and procedures to Cloud Datalake. Cloud Engineer will support the transition of crucial business applications and procedures to Datalake and enhance existing utilities with latest released features. Cloud engineers work with programmers, developers, project managers and security experts to create efficient cloud computing solutions
What will you be doing?
• Learn, understand, develop and maintain the cloud datalake platform
• Drive platform improvements to stability and supportability
• Develop utilities to support EDP's cloud journey
• Develop and support CI/CD Pipelines to develop automations
• Design and build cloud native solutions and work as an SME for AWS solutions
• Exposure to Atlassian toolset
• Analyse new functional, technical as well as non-functional requirements to find the most appropriate technical solution contributing to the overall system design
• Provide different solution options and define pros and cons based on driving forces from a commercial, operational and technology viewpoint
• Produce end-to-end system designs, engaging, directing and collaborating with other internal and supplier teams as required
• Develop an in-depth awareness of new tools, processes and technical developments relevant to your area of expertise, and seek opportunities to apply them
What we're looking for:
• Good knowledge of Python and Jenkins
• Basic working AWS knowledge, Cloudformation
• Basics of Unix/bash, RHEL7/8
• Good understanding of AWS services, like EC2, S3, Glue, EMR, Athena, KMS
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Hands on experience of using AWS, Serverless Technology, Jenkins and Stash
• Willingness to expand on AWS knowledge
• Basic understanding of shell script
• Deployment experience of CI/CD pipeline
• AWS certification
• Working experience on AWS
• Knowledge on open source development technologies
