Position Overview
Job Title- Automation engineer (AVP or Associates)
Location- Pune
Role Description –
An automation engineer takes charge of developing detailed design specifications and any other documents. Automation engineers develop automation software that is based on certain requirements for the involved process. They conform to local standards, international standards, and other process-oriented guidelines. Their duties also include the simulation and testing of automated machinery and processes. The must-have skills for this position include configuration software experience, scripting and coding expertise, certifications, and in-depth knowledge of technology. Along with on prem automation test engineer, the Cloud Test Automation Engineer is responsible for developing and executing automated tests for cloud-based software applications. The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud computing, scripting languages, test automation frameworks, and CI/CD.

Your key Roles and Responsibilities
• Cloud computing: A good understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies, such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), is essential for an automation test engineer in Google Cloud. This includes understanding the different cloud services available, how they work together, and how to use them to automate tests.
• Git hub- Work with GitHub to manage source code repositories and perform branching, merging, and tagging depending on requirement. Also able to create workflow in Git hub for automation execution pipeline
• Scripting languages: Automation test engineers need to be proficient in scripting languages, such Java, and Python, . These languages are used to write scripts that automate the testing process.
• Test automation frameworks: There are many different test automation frameworks available, such as Selenium WebDriver and JUnit. Automation test engineers need to be familiar with one or more of these frameworks to automate tests.
• Automation development - design and implementation of Web app, desktop systems and application hosted on server, thin and far application.
• Continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD): CI/CD is a software development practice that automates the process of building, testing, and deploying software. Automation test engineers need to be familiar with CI/CD to automate the testing process and ensure that code changes are tested before they are deployed.
• Debugging skills: Automation test engineers need to be able to debug test scripts and identify and fix errors. This requires strong problem-solving skills. Interacting with team/customers /clients to solve the various issues they face and updating on the situation
• Communication skills: Automation test engineers need to be able to communicate effectively with other engineers, stakeholders, and customers. This includes being able to explain test results and recommendations in a clear and concise way.
• Attention to detail: Automation test engineers need to be detail-oriented to ensure that tests are accurate and complete. Feasibility analysis of functional site and develop the automation test scripts by applying various designs . Also documenting the automation test strategy, creating an automation test plan and getting approval. Configuring Selenium Test Environment (STE) in order to set it up
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team: Automation test engineers need to be able to work independently to troubleshoot problems and automate tests. They also need to be able to work as part of a team to collaborate on test plans and execution.
Your skills and experience
• Experience with Agile and DevOps methodology
• Experience with scripting languages as Java & Python and good to have Ruby
• Experience with coding architecture, design patterns
• Experience with standalone and independent framework utility creation
• Experience with test automation frameworks, such as Selenium WebDriver and JUnit
• Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, teamcity
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and have decision-making ability
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with SQL queries
• Experience with cloud-based testing tools
• Experience with project deliveries, timelines and can work with precision
• Experience with cloud computing
• In addition to these essential skills, automation test engineers in Google Cloud may also good to have experience with specific Google Cloud services, such as Kubernetes, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions. They may also need to have experience with specific testing tools, such as Google Test and Google Cloud Testing.
