About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Network Engineer to implement, manage and support the network infrastructure (physical, virtual, public/private cloud environments) for one of our clients in the hospitality industry.

As a Cloud Network Engineer, your role would involve the following responsibilities

Designing, implementing, and managing cloud network infrastructure in a multi-cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Developing network architecture blueprints, including virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, routing tables, security groups, and network access control policies.
Configuring and maintaining network services such as VPNs, load balancers, firewalls, and DNS.
Implementing and managing network connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and cloud environments, including hybrid cloud setups.
Monitoring and optimizing network performance, availability, and scalability to ensure efficient and reliable network operations.
Implementing and maintaining network security measures, including network segmentation, access controls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Troubleshooting and resolving network issues, working closely with cross-functional teams and cloud service providers as necessary.
Automating network provisioning, configuration, and management tasks using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and orchestration tools.
Collaborating with DevOps and development teams to ensure network requirements are met for application deployments and infrastructure changes.
Staying up to date with emerging cloud networking technologies, best practices, and industry trends.

Qualifications

Extensive experience working as a Network Engineer, with a focus on cloud networking.
Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, BGP, MPLS).
Hands-on experience with cloud networking services and technologies, such as AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network, Google Cloud VPC, and associated components.
Proficiency in network security principles and best practices, including firewall configurations, access controls, and network segmentation.
Familiarity with cloud networking architectures and patterns, including hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments.
Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, as well as network performance optimization techniques.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python, and experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices, with the ability to collaborate with DevOps teams for network automation and integration.
Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty, or equivalent.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Our projects are primarily long-term, from 6 months to 2 years. During that time, we will discuss the career progression training that you can undertake and make sure you keep learning through your engagement
