CNC Machinist Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating CNC machinery. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, setting up machines, and ensuring precision in the production of parts. The CNC Machinist will play a crucial role in maintaining high-quality standards while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Fully embraces and participate in all QHSE programs, in particular; STOP Intervention, QHSE Observations, Accident/Incident Reporting, QHSE Auditing & good housekeeping practices.

Makes sure inspection records are accurate, maintenance activities are documented, logs are maintained, and production output is consistent.

Actively pursues proficiency in the use of hand tools, techniques, the JSS system, calibrated measuring equipment, gauges, and other important tools and equipment necessary for job success.

Monitors and inspects own work to ensure compliance with required quality and efficiency standards, and provides assistance to lead machinists, supervisors, and/or other operators when necessary.

Maintains a strong dedication and self-discipline by managing time efficiently, being punctual, consistently showing up to work, and communicating openly with supervisors.

Ability to comprehend work orders, directions/instructions, and specifications for basis tickets, to align routing instructions with drawing modifications/revisions, and to improve existing programs.

Produce high-quality machined components made from raw materials that meet NTSLED quality standards and customer requirements, or repair customer parts to the same standard.

Ensure that all preventative maintenance checks are executed in accordance with the specifications and the results are documented.

Attend and participate in all training provided by the company and commit to all system changes approved by the Management Team.

Make sure there is effective communication between the shop floor, lead machinist, manager/supervisor, programmer, QC, and office about any issues that could impact the job's efficiency/quality.

Ensure that all operations are documented and signed off to meet the customer's expectations and record chargeable time.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure that workflows are maintained as and when needed.

Ensure that only Controlled Copy documents are used and that obsolete revisions are handed back to the Quality Manager for disposal.

Requirements

Ability to run different CNC lathes as needed also with live tooling.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to describe processes or procedures.

Must be able to work in a team environment and take a leadership role when required

Ability to read accurately and write clearly and perform basic arithmetic calculations accurately and to make the proper tool selection for the application.

Experience

Experience in tooling, tooling technology, shop math, blueprint reading and measurement of parts.

Experience with complex, tight tolerance parts and various materials and A.P.I. connections

4-6 years of experience running CNC Lathes.

Full understanding of all G & M codes. Mazak, Fanuc, and Fagro controls.

Candidate is required to report Fit for Duty and comply to Company Human Resources Policies.
