Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team! In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing computer numerical control (CNC) programs that drive precision machining operations. Your expertise will ensure that complex components are manufactured efficiently, accurately, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing processes and work with state-of-the-art equipment, including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and electrical discharge machining (EDM). If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for precision engineering, this role is perfect for you!
Duties
Develop and write CNC programs using CAM software such as CATIA or SolidWorks to produce complex parts with high precision.
Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to determine machining requirements.
Set up and operate CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and EDM equipment to produce parts according to specifications.
Utilize geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.
Conduct toolpath verification and simulation to optimize machining processes before production runs.
Perform precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments to verify part accuracy.
Troubleshoot machining issues by analyzing tooling, fixtures, and program parameters; implement improvements based on lean manufacturing principles.
Collaborate with design engineers using CAD software like AutoCAD or SolidWorks to refine part designs for manufacturability.
Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, and process adjustments for quality control and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Proven experience in CNC programming for both milling machines and lathes; familiarity with Fanuc controls is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA for designing parts and generating toolpaths.
Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining techniques, tooling selection, and fixture design.
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and schematics with GD&T annotations.
Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus.
Skilled in using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and height gauges.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles aimed at reducing waste while increasing efficiency.
Strong math skills including geometry and basic algebra necessary for precise programming and measurement tasks.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot program errors or machining issues effectively.
Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality components consistently. Join us in shaping the future of manufacturing by leveraging your CNC programming expertise! We value innovation, precision, and continuous improvement — if you’re ready to make an impact in a fast-moving environment dedicated to excellence in machining technology, we want to hear from you!
