Job Description
The Eldernet Group is New Zealand’s leading information provider about services for older people, and has the lofty goal of making life better for them. A lot of this involves providing information via our websites, such as eldernet.co.nz and retirementvillages.co.nz, the hardcopy, region-specific, handbook Where from here He ara whakamua and our social media and digital communication channels. These platforms are designed to support older people (and those supporting them) to make really good, well-informed decisions about what’s coming next.
This role has a number of main components:
First, working alongside our team, to ensure that the material we create reaches the right people at the right time as per our Engagement Strategy. This includes ownership of our EDM and newsletters. You’ll also be supporting our handbook production team and working with them to supply drafts, checking content accuracy and proof reading.
Secondly, you will be supporting our CEO with marketing and comms. This will cover media requests, press releases, liaising with external contracts (design, SEO etc.) and planning and managing our social media (mainly Facebook and LinkedIn).
Finally, keeping us on track. Project management is key to this role – you will be ensuring that the plans we have made are adhered to and that every aspect of our work is delivered on time and to a high standard.
We can promise your working day will never be boring! This role requires someone who can manage multiple projects at various levels. It’s not multi-tasking, but skilled ‘juggling’ – keeping deadlines, check-ins and timelines in mind, whilst ensuring a constant delivery through multiple workstreams on multiple platforms. But most importantly you need to be able to work in a true role-sharing capacity – leveraging the skills and experience you bring whilst maximising the awesomeness of your co-worker.
Our ideal candidate will have:
An interest or knowledge of the ‘older persons’ journey (including retirement villages, community based support services, the health sector and aged care) but we know that being a great learner and having the right attitude can definitely bridge this, so if you’ve got experience that’s perhaps a little left field – don’t worry we’ll definitely consider your application!
