Accountable to: Coffee Shop Manager
Hours: 16 per week (4 days from 6) *closed Sunday's*
Salary: £9.50 per hour
Job Purpose
Working as part of a strong team to produce high quality buffets/sandwiches in a bakery/café, run as a training facility helping adults with learning disabilities (apprentices) to move on and access new opportunities in training, education, employment and leisure.
Major Tasks / Activities
Ø To assist the team in preparation and sale of bakery goods, drinks and snacks for the coffee shop
Ø To assist the team in preparation and sale of bakery goods, drinks and snacks for outside catering events and afternoon tea's
Ø To follow management and food preparation procedures and policies which reflect most recent statutory legislations and guidelines
Ø To liaise with the other staff responsible for education, training, employment and personal development to ensure that the apprentice coffee shop team are supported appropriately and receive appropriate training for the demands of a commercial enterprise
Ø To ensure all Health and Safety and hygiene requirements are met
Ø To promote apprentice coffee shop team involvement in all aspects of planning and operational developments through planning exercises, group work and other initiatives
Ø To carry out any other duty reasonable within the broad remit of this post
Terms and Conditions
Ø Employment will be for 20 hours per week. These hours will be worked 4 days from 6.
Ø 4 weeks (pro-rata) holiday entitlement.
Ø Statuary sick pay policy after 3 waiting days but less than 28 days.
Ø Employee Pension Scheme is available to all qualifying staff.
Ø There is a probation period of three months, when the appointment may be terminated by not less than one week’s notice. After confirmation in post, not less than four weeks’ notice must be given
Ø Satisfactory police / disclosure check
Ø Two satisfactory references
