About the opportunity
Want to work in and contribute to the NSW Public Health System? Use your skills and initiative to lead the charge as our Commercial Compliance Manager - Procurement & Analytics, driving innovation and efficiency across NSW Health Pathology! This role can be based from our Head Office in Newcastle or St Leonards.
We operate more than 60 laboratories and around 200 collection centres across NSW and conduct over 60 million tests per annum. Our network of pathologists are supported by scientists, technicians and support staff who quickly and accurately assess samples so clinical teams can make the best possible treatment decisions for patients. Our Forensic & Analytical Science Service provides independent, objective analysis to the NSW criminal and coronial justice systems.

What you'll be doing
The Commercial Compliance Manager - Procurement & Analytics has a comprehensive understanding of NSWHP operational and procurement cost drivers and will initiate and lead innovative and data insight driven commercial initiatives to reduce the total cost of ownership for NSWHP; whilst ensuring adherence to NSW Health Procurement Policy and Procedure and mitigating legal, reputational, and financial risks.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business Administration, Law, Finance, Procurement, or a related discipline and/or a CPA, CA, or CBAP qualification.
Minimum 3 years hands-on experience from an analytical/procurement/data scientist/finance cost accounting role within a large and complex organisation.
Demonstrated proficiency with data manipulation and cleaning, statistical and mathematical aptitude, effective oral and written communication abilities, and a problem-solving mindset.
Understanding ethical and privacy considerations, comfortable with evolving data tools and methodologies.
Able to extract valuable insights, build predictive models, and communicate findings to drive data-driven decision-making.
Advanced engagement, collaboration, presentation, and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to build, maintain and use relationships with staff, stakeholders, and suppliers.
Capable user of Oracle, PowerBI; and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Competent and confident in planning own time and setting priorities to achieve agreed objectives with the resources available and within set timeframes.
