JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Project Accountant, your primary responsibility is to support the project team regarding contracts, Procore and other systems subject matter expert, and any other duties related to the project. Your duties will also include reviewing budgets and preparing financial reports.
To be successful as a project accountant, you should possess extensive experience in accounting and the ability to provide project managers with accurate financial information. Top-notch project accountants ensure consistent billing and prepare reliable financial reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate job setup and organization with the Project Management team.
Review and maintain accurate Project Cost Report.
Analyze project costs and variances.
Support the month-end and year-end closing processes (EOM).
Presenting and explaining financial information to project managers and management.
Tracking budget variances and conducting research and analysis.
Process invoice in ERP system and ensure clean and correct data throughout all systems.
Ensure consistent billing and financial reporting at project levels by following best practices.
Support analysis and report assigned projects’ financial information.
Offer actual costs information to the team.
Integration admin for Procore, GC Pay, Sage, Cabbage.
Create processes and best practice within software system.
Assist with any additional assignments upon request of the accounting supervisor or project management team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
3-5 years’ experience in construction accounting.
Expert knowledge of Procore system.
Knowledge of Sage (Timberline), GC Pay, Sage, Cabbage software a plus.
Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, and project management software.
Clear understanding of construction contract.
Must pass a pre-employment criminal and drug screen successfully
