Reporting into the Head of Regional Commercial Lending, you play a vital role in the future growth of Metro Bank through accountability for working within a Regional Commercial team to land and maintain a growing book of commercial lending customers, whilst adhering to regulatory requirements and the risk appetite of the bank.
What you will do:
Grow the bank with the acquisition of new borrowing customers
Develop and deliver your business plan, responding to internal risk challenges, external market challenges, and regulatory requirements
Develop and maintain active and influential relationships with key market professionals and players, as Metro Bank’s external face to the Commercial market (customers & professionals) building our brand and reputation in this key marketplace
Manage all aspects of Risk, including Credit, Operational and Regulatory
Manage, influence and build an internal network across Metro Bank to ensure a One Team approach for customers and colleagues
Liaise with other internal stakeholders to deliver required propositions and pricing requirements, risk policies and reporting set and managed within appetites
Be a role model for the Regional Commercial Team and Metro Bank when dealing with customers, intermediaries and colleagues

What you will need:
Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
Proven track record of cashflow lending with specialist sector knowledge within commercial/debt advisory/banking environments
Excellent credit underwriting skills, with a track record of lending to SMEs
Track record in successfully building, maintaining and growing valuable commercial banking relationships
Excellent negotiation skills with an ability to interact and influence senior/executive management internally and externally
Experience as a Commercial Banking Director/Manager/ Business Developer or equivalent
Experience on lending to trading business across sectors such as hospitality, leisure, manufacturing, logistics, food production, professional services etc.
