Job Description: Indian Commi Chef
Position: Commi Chef (Indian Cuisine)
Department: Kitchen
Reports to: Sous Chef/Head
Chef Summary:
The Commi Chef (Indian Cuisine) is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality Indian dishes, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and assisting senior chefs in all aspects of food preparation. The ideal candidate should have a passion for Indian cuisine, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
Assist in the preparation of Indian dishes including curries, tandoori items, biryanis, and other traditional dishes.
Follow recipes and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
Prepare ingredients by chopping vegetables, grinding spices, and marinating meats.
Cooking:
Cook dishes according to specific methods, standards, and recipes.
Operate kitchen equipment such as tandoors, grinders, and pressure cookers safely and efficiently.
Monitor food stock and place orders as needed to ensure a seamless kitchen operation.
Quality Control:
Ensure all dishes meet the restaurant’s standards of quality and presentation before being served.
Taste and adjust seasoning of dishes as necessary.
Kitchen Hygiene and Safety:
Maintain a clean and organized work station.
Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation.
Participate in regular cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow.
Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure timely preparation and delivery of dishes.
Assist in training new kitchen staff as required.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with new cooking techniques and trends in Indian cuisine.
Suggest new dishes or improvements to existing menu items to the Head Chef.
Participate in culinary workshops and training sessions to enhance skills.
Qualifications:
Education: Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts, specifically Indian Cuisine, is preferred.
Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment, with a focus on Indian cuisine.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
Excellent knife skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety standards.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
