Bicicletta Restaurant: Join Our Team as a Commis Chef
At Bicicletta Restaurant, located within Peppers Gallery Hotel in Canberra, we pride ourselves on serving authentic Italian cuisine that leaves a lasting impression.
We're a favourite spot to meet with family and friends to share a meal or enjoy one of our expertly crafted cocktails. Our friendly and professional team is dedicated to ensuring your every need is met in one of our unique and stylish settings.
Dine with us in our open-plan restaurant, relax in our leafy courtyard, or enjoy an ******** meal in the Library Bar. We also cater to group diners with two beautifully appointed private dining rooms and tailored group menus.
Purpose:
The Commis Chef role plays a pivotal part in our team, offering opportunities to learn from our experienced senior chefs and showcase creativity, passion for food, and exceptional teamwork skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
Evaluate food quality and presentation, meeting property standards while maintaining timeliness.
Comply with local health, safety, and compliance regulations, demonstrating a solid understanding of HACCP management.
Achieve accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in food preparation.
Engage in ongoing training and guidance from senior chefs.
Assume a range of kitchen tasks, including dishwashing and crafting dishes.
Skills & Experience:
To be successful as a Commis Chef at Accor, you'll require:
Recognised culinary training and employment experience.
A commercial cookery certification, preferably accompanied by a safe food handling certificate or food safety supervisor qualification.
Ambition, raw talent, and a genuine passion for food.
Openness to feedback and willingness to experiment with new ideas.
Ability to communicate effectively and thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
Flexible availability to accommodate varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
