About the role
Working in a fun and lively environment the Commis Chef is responsible for, depending on the role;
Assisting in planning menus and ordering food supplies
Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
Lead, train, and mentor junior staff
Consistency in product quality and presentation
Planning menus and costing of food production
Chef de Partie must be able to manage own section, and assist other sections
Commis Chef position will support the above duties with the Chef De Partie
What you will bring

Your communication skills will be first class, with ability to work effectively under pressure. Naturally, your previous experience within a luxury hospitality setting, will come highly regarded. As will the following:
Experience in a French Bistro
flexibility in your roster availability, to work varied hours as required, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
a positive, genuine and team-focused attitude with ability to work independently
great attention to detail and passion in your field
understanding of cost control, menu planning and food cost
a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department grooming standards
understanding and adherence to the hotel’s rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety
Apprentice positions will also be considered for the right candidate.
