Commis Chef – Uppingham School, Rutland
Location: Uppingham, LE15 9QE
Hourly Rate: £13.08
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, 5 days over 7 (term-time plus)

Aramark UK is currently recruiting a passionate and motivated Commis Chef to join our team at the prestigious Uppingham School, an independent school nestled in the picturesque town of Uppingham, Rutland. With 15 boarding houses and two central hub kitchens, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in a unique and well-supported catering environment.

A Day in the Life of a Commis Chef:
• Preparing and cooking dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner using standardised recipes
• Ensuring all meals meet allergen and Natasha’s Law requirements
• Assisting with daily paperwork and due diligence checks
• Helping with deliveries, food storage, and stock management
• Supporting deep cleans and maintaining kitchen hygiene standards
• Collaborating with the Chef and Catering Manager to keep things running smoothly
What You’ll Bring:
• Previous experience as a Commis Chef or similar kitchen role
• Strong organisational skills and a proactive, hands-on approach
• A genuine passion for great food and being part of a team
Essential Requirements:
• Legal right to work in the UK
• Must have lived in the UK for the past 3 years (required for security clearance)
• Able to pass DBS and full security vetting
