About us
Lums Wine Bar is a boutique wine bar and restaurant offering a curated range of wines and speciality cuisine. Our inspiration comes from the Spanish region, with pintxos, tapas and more substantial dishes on offer. We try to incorporate a Spanish twist with all of our dishes, whilst maintaining an understanding we’re developing for an Australian palate.
We are looking for an experienced Commis Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will possess a deep passion for culinary excellence and a track record of delivering high-quality food.
Qualifications & experience
Proven experience as a Commis Chef in quality establishments.
Knowledgeable and passionate about all aspects of food and food preparation.
Comfortable in assisting the Chef and kitchen team with food preparation, serving food and other tasks.
Certificate III or above Commercial Cookery not required, but preferred.
Previous experience with Spanish cuisine and wine bars not required, but preferred.
Familiarity with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
Proof of right to work in Australia.
You will be required to obtain a National Police Check.
Tasks & responsibilities
Daily kitchen operations.
Preparing and cooking menu items, stock control.
Setting up and packing down of kitchen.
Keeping kitchen clean and tidy.
Complying with all food hygiene regulations.
Position
A casual or part-time position is available of approximately 25 hours/week.
Pay rate to start at Level 2 or Level 3 Cook, pending candidate and experience.
The required working days are Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, with a possibility for more hours.
