About you
You are a self-motivated and organised professional with:
Advanced skills in word processing and Microsoft Office programs, and the ability to quickly learn and use the key applications and systems of the Parliamentary Service;
Proven experience in working effectively in a team environment, as well as independently, under pressure and to tight, non-negotiable deadlines;
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with a range of stakeholders, using appropriate language and style;
A very high level of attention to detail and awareness of confidentiality requirements; and
Knowledge of parliamentary processes and procedures, particularly relating to committees, or the ability to acquire such knowledge quickly
About the role
As a Committee Support Officer, you will provide high-level support to the Committee Secretary. Your main responsibilities will include:
Providing proactive administrative and procedural support to help the committee fulfil its statutory and other obligations;
Managing the secretariat's correspondence and processing submissions to Inquiries;
Updating and publishing to the committee's website;
Formatting and proof-reading reports and briefing papers;
Writing routine letters, emails, reports, minutes, and agendas;
Editing and printing committee publications to a high standard and within deadlines;
Arranging committee meetings, hearings, inspections, and travel;
Handling phone calls for the Committee Secretary, answering public queries about the committee and its activities, and communicating with committee members and their staff; and
Conducting minor research on various topics, issues, and trends related to the committee's work.
